The Journey
The Invitation
We invite you to step into the shoes of the Strawberry Girls and to journey with them through the five stages—Morocco, the Strawberry Fields of Spain, the Brothel, the Safehouse, and Abundant Life.
We dedicate the story of the Strawberry Girls to Habiba—the “Genesis Girl”—the first Strawberry Girl we met.
Morocco
Morocco…
The land of couscous, tagines, camels, babouches, djellabas, mint tea, henna…
Morocco…
The land where the traffic line begins.
“El Dorado”—the “land with streets paved of gold”—lies just beyond the sea.

The Crossing
The Strawberry Fields
When the Moroccan women cross the Mediterranean and arrive in Spain, they enter another world, another land, another life.
There is no turning back.
Strawberries don’t grow on trees; they grow low on the ground. Imagine bending over 10 hours a day in the blazing hot sun, with a plastic basket strapped to your back.

The Brothel
They spot their prey, an easy victim.
And they begin their games… lies, deception, and empty promises among their tactics.
The traffic line continues to another place—a place these women never see coming, a place the women never imagined… even in their worst nightmares.
These women have no idea that they are about to step foot in a brothel. Once they do, outside of a miracle, they will never get out.
They arrive with a “debt on their head.” They don’t know it, but they have been purchased.

The Safe House
In places where some are afraid to trod, others enter with faith, courage, and boldness to pierce the darkness.
They hear the SOS cries from behind closed doors.
These brave ones walk through the doors of brothels and through the streets carrying a beacon—a torch of hope, a torch of freedom.
Some Strawberry Girls have the courage to run, to flee, to follow the light, and once they do, they cannot look back.

When the Strawberry Girls arrive at the safe house, they are survivors.
When they leave the safe house several years later, they are thrivers.
